The Emergence of Glider Guns in Cellular Automata found by Evolutionary Algorithms

چکیده

We aim to construct an automatic system for the discovery of computationally universal cellular automata, spatially. Glider and glider gun structures are required for such systems. In this paper, a large number of glider guns are presented which have sponstaneously emerged through the use of a genetic algorithm. A classification of glider guns that takes into account the number of emitted gliders is also proposed.
